Dame Lesley Powell DBE to co-chair new government Key Stage 3 Alliance

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Dame Lesley Powell DBE, will co-chair a new Key Stage 3 Alliance which will form part of the government’s Regional Improvement for Standards (RISE) offer.

The aim of the alliance is to test ideas, exchange evidence and share the understanding of what an excellent Key Stage 3 experience looks like in practice. Dame Lesley, alongside fellow co-chair, Rebecca Boomer-Clark, CEO of Lift Schools, will bring together practitioners and researchers to improve and strengthen this important phase of education, which is a critical window in a young person’s development.

Speaking of the Alliance, Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson, commented:

“I am delighted that Becks Boomer-Clark and Dame Lesley Powell will lead the RISE Key Stage 3 Alliance. Their combined experience will be invaluable in spreading best practice across the country and supporting all children to achieve and thrive in these crucial years of adolescence."
