Key Stage 3 Alliance launch

Yesterday marked the launch of the National Key Stage 3 Alliance which our CEO, Dame Lesley Powell, is proud to co-chair with Lift Schools CEO, Becks Boomer-Clark.

The event, hosted at the House of Lords, saw over 100 educators gather to hear about the aims of the alliance and to pledge to work together across England to improve the educational experiences of children in their early secondary years 7-9.

The new national alliance is calling on schools, trusts, colleges, researchers and young people to help redefine the purpose of Key Stage 3 and identify what works during this critical period of education.

Speaking of the launch, Dame Lesley, said: "We are determined to make a difference through the alliance to help schools transform the early secondary years for every child. We know we are stronger together, and the alliance gives teachers and school leaders an exciting opportunity to share expertise to drive meaningful change for children up and down the country."

The alliance is also calling for evidence to find examples of effective practice in the early secondary years, research and innovation, as well as lessons from approaches that have not worked.
